U.S. Bank Robbery

Authorities are searching for a suspect involved in a bank robbery in Cambridge.

The Cambridge Police Department responded to a robbery at U.S. Bank on East Wheeling Avenue at 3:25 p.m. A bystander outside of the bank discharged a handgun in an attempt to stop the suspect, but was unsuccessful. No one was injured during the incident.

"We were told a heavy set male either a light skinned black or a Hispanic came into the bank and made some demands for some money and he fled in a small green vehicle," said Sergeant Phil Hall of the Cambridge Police Department.

Hall says the suspect was last seen heading south on I-77 with an undisclosed amount of money. The case is still under investigation.
