Early voting is underway.
Muskingum County Board of Elections Director Chris Hamill says 6,400 applications have been requested for absentee voters. She says some people aren't sure how they want to vote on Election Day.
"This way they can take their ballot and have it either mailed to them or they can carry their own ballot out of the office and they have the luxury to go home, sit down and review that ballot before they make a final decision," says Hamill.
She says while absentee voting is gaining popularity, they still expect to see a 40% turnout at the polls.
"The last day to request an application for an absentee ballot is on Saturday the 30th by noon, we must have that request in our office to mail that ballot to the voter," she said.
Absentee ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections no later than 7:30 p.m. on November 2nd.
