The Job Ready Site is, well, ready-and welcoming business to Muskingum County.
The piece of property is located in the EastPointe Business Park and is now certified by the state. Port Authority executive director Mike Jacoby says now work is underway to find a tenant.
"It's one of the bigger shovel-ready sites in Ohio. It's top five, probably, so it could accommodate a very large building. If a big project was considering Ohio, it could come here," says Jacoby.
With a $4 million grant from the state, and a $3 million match-all, studies prove that the area is ready for development.
"The ground has been leveled. They have done the archeological studies, they've expanded a little bit of the road, they've done all the things that a company would have to do if they wanted to come into this site and develop it," says Chris Shaffer, Director of the Governor's Office of Appalachia.
The project has been four years in the works. It has the potential to bring many local jobs, and adds to the growing industrial climate in Zanesville, Muskingum County and Appalachia.
