Zanesville is making the front page of a statewide publication.
Ohio Magazine has chosen the city as one of the best hometowns in the state for 2011, which now gives us bragging rights.
"Of course we know that we're a wonderful hometown. We love living here, but it's a great way to let all of Ohio know that Zanesville has a wonderful reputation, " says Zanesville-Muskingum Chamber of Commerce Vice President, Kelly Ashby.
A group from the magazine toured the city and looked at everything from the friendliness of the community to the state of businesses. Ashby says sometimes people look down on our area as a poorer part of the state, but we are so much more.
"It does tell more of the story. There are so many things that are great about the area. There are the arts. There are wonderful attractions. There is a great school system-not just one but many great school systems in the area, " says Ashby.
Zanesville is one of five cities in the state that received this recognition. It will also be featured in the magazine three separate times next year.
