With steam billowing out of the Secrest Auditorium, there is no doubt Wednesday is SERTOMA Pancake Day in Zanesville.
With Thanksgiving Day right around the corner, the Y-city gobbled up its own annual day long feast. While the weather was a little dreary early, that didn't stop hungry stomachs from making their way in for their share of breakfast treats.
"This is a rarity in a community this size. For it to be the 51st year and the attendance doesn't drop off. It's only going up," says SERTOMA President Steve Winland.
This is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for SERTOMA.
Pancake Day is also a reminder of what being a part of a close knit community is all about.
"The people are all committed, all on the same page. It's like reminiscing with people you haven't seen in a year's time," says Pancake Day Veteran Jeff Dittmar.
Over 50 volunteers including SERTOMA members, their spouses, and several area churches helped in this year's event.
