A major effort to rid Perry County of drugs and other criminal activity took place on Thursday. The eight hour Multi-
Agency Police Saturation effort resulted in five drug arrests, 12 case investigations and 63 warnings issued. The enforcement effort ran from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm in Perry County. Officals says eight state troopers, 17 deputies and 10 police officers combined efforts and saturated the streets and roadways in efforts to catch individuals transporting illegal contraband. This is the first time that multi-agencies have come together to deter criminal activities within Perry County. Agencies participating included the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Perry County Sheriff’s Department, New Lexington Police, Central Ohio Drug Task Force, Crooksville Police Department, Perry County Probation, Perry County Prosecutor’s Office and the Perry County Law Director’s Office. A total of 105 vehicles were stopped during the eight hour enforcement which resulted in 27 arrests and five grams of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
