For some, it's the most wonderful time of the year.
The annual "Tree of Love" lighting ceremony was held Friday evening in front of Genesis-Bethesda Hospital. The public was invited to celebrate the joyful occasion.
"A tree is purchased in memory of or in honor of a loved one and besides the trees, we have all the bulbs on the trees," said Chairperson Alice Mauk. "It's just an emotional and beautiful evening and what a wonderful way to start the holiday season."
Volunteers started planting the trees at the beginning of November. Mauk said she's delighted to see the final result.
"It's a way to raise money for a good cause which is cancer services and we like to think of it as our gift to the community," she said.
You may donate to the Tree of Love through the end of December.
