Following the festivities of Miracle on Main Street will be the annual Festival of Trees.
More than 200 trees and other holiday decorations will on display and for sale at the Muskingum County Welcome Center. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Chamber of Commerce.
"The Chamber of Commerce works with the Port Authority and the city and the county on economic development and our members know that, and our contributors to the Festival of Trees know that, and so they understand that they have to take care of their own," said President of the Chamber of Commerce Tom Poorman.
Poorman says this is a critical fundraiser for them and helps a great deal with business and economic developments. He says this year a new theme is being introduced.
"This year we have a theme of hometown pride, every year we have just had a traditional holiday theme, so this year we added, we laid on top of that traditional holiday approach, the theme of hometown pride so we're trying to celebrate all of the assets and advantages of muskingum county."
The trees will be auctioned off on Friday along with unique incentives offered by area businesses. You can listen to the auction live on WHIZ-AM 1240 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
