The holiday season is alive and well at the Welcome Center as they prepare for Friday's Festival of Trees.
There's a pink tree, wine tree and wreaths of all kinds. Many stopped by Thursday to wander through the holiday displays getting a peak of what's up for auction. One organizer said an extended deadline led to more entries.
"We've been doing this a long time and I think people took their time getting the information," said Dana Matz. "This year we have 208 entries and I think that's a good number."
The hometown themed entries come with some great incentives, a Kevin Martin signed Rockets jersey, X-Box Kinect and one that is sure to be the talk of the town.
"The other entry that is if you are a baseball fan is that the owner of the plane will fly to Pittsburgh, Cincinnati or Cleveland, pay for two tickets and fly you home."
The bidding begins Friday morning at 9am. Those looking to bid by phone can do so at (740) 450-1990. As always all the action can be heard on WHIZ's AM 1240. All money raised by the event goes towards the Chamber of Commerce.
