Locals came together at Christ's Table for a warm holiday meal today.
Christ's Table began in 1986 in response to the need for a warm meals program in Zanesville and Muskingum County. The operation is supported by individuals, businesses, churches, and organizations throughout the community. Kitchen Coordinator Tina Adolph says today's meal lets people know that they are not alone this holiday.
"I think it's very important for the community to have things like this because people feel more like they are at home, some people don't have anywhere to go for Christmas day so since we are open today, they will have somewhere to go today," said Adolph.
The less fortunate are served warm, nutritious meals on a daily basis, Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM with today's Christmas meal being a little extra special.
"It makes me feel really good to be able to come in and to be able to share Christmas day with some people that may not have no one else to spend it with, and it really means a lot to me and I have a lot of volunteers to help today so that really helps also," said Adolph.
