Out with the old, in with the new...It's the day after Christmas and that means it's New Year's resolution time.
Locals crowded the Fieldhouse Family Fitness Center waiting to get a head start on their New Year's resolutions. Owner Mick Amicone says the fitness industry is seeing an increase because of more reasons than one. With the recent bitter cold temperatures in Zanesville, Amicone says the weather has brought in an early bird when it comes to post Christmas and New Year's Day workouts.
"The people that really are going to wait until after that New Years Eve party, wait to wake up on January 1st and say oh my gosh, here we go, now I got to start it, but I think Mother Nature has kicked it into a little bit high gear," said Amicone.
When wanting to lose weight, Amicone says the secret is for people to be patient. It takes a minimum of 90 to 120 days until you can see a real improvement. And Amicone says this improvement is exactly why we choose losing weight as our number one resolution.
"I think the number one reason why that is on everybody's resolution is because we always want to improve ourselves. We have got into so many bad habits by the end of the year and especially after the holidays that everyone wants self improvement," said Amicone.
