The Zanesville Police and Fire Departments searched the Muskingum River for 30 minutes after receiving a call that two people may have fallen through ice.
Assistant Fire Chief Daviid Huey said eye witnesses saw some juveniles playing down by the West side of the river possibly "polar bear" swimming. When crews searched the river, they did not find anyone.
It could be the juveniles saw the search begin and were afraid to be in trouble so they fled the scene. It is known people had been in the river.
