Special Election

The Muskingum County Board of Elections is preparing for their next project that is approaching this February.

There will be a special election on February 8th where the village of Frazeysburg will be voting on a fire levy that will provide fire protection.  Executive Director Chris Hamill says you have until February 5th to request an absentee ballot.  There is a total of 790 registered voters in Frazeysburg.

"I predict a very low turnout. We are only talking about the one precinct. You know we will have to wait and see but as of right now, I think it will be a lower turnout," said Executive Director Chris Hamill.

Hamill also wants to remind the public about the filing deadling for this year's primary election.

"The primary election will be on May 3rd, and anyone who wants to file for the primary election, the filing deadline will be on February 2nd by 4 pm," said Hamill.

The polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the special election on February 8th.  For more information, you can call (740) 455-7120.
