OUZ Honors Lunch

Where should I go to college is on the mind of many high school seniors this time of year. An annual luncheon at Ohio University Zanesville honors the professionals that help students with this life changing choice.

Those in attendance at the annual luncheon benefit from hearing what is happening at Ohio University Zanesville. One exciting change is as higher education faces a challenging future, OUZ is able to provide more scholarships to students in Muskingum County.

"There is some great scholarship opportunities for all students in Muskingum County we a lot of students that take advantage of that as well. This is just a great corridor for the transition from high school to college," said Tri - Valley Superintendent, Mark Neal.

It is also a chance for educators to get together and discuss changes in education including online degrees. Online degrees could challenge public colleges and universities. OUZ scholarships help the cost.

"Typically they award students that might otherwise fall through the cracks who may not meet the standards of other Merit scholarship, but are good hard working students," said Jason Howard, OUZ.

For students whose parents did not attend college it is suggested to speak with a guidance counselor . They will have all the information you need. Before picking a school it is advised to visit the campus.
