The Cambridge Police Department is releasing more information from a Tuesday afternoon fatal shooting. Investigators say it started just after 4:00 pm near the intersection of north 9th Street and Stewart Avenue. A 43-year-old male who lives at 903 Stewart Street got into an argument with two young males who live nearby. Police say when officers arrived on the scene, the suspect fired a handgun from his porch toward the two males and struck 21-year-old Kyle Carter of Cambridge in the chest with a bullet. Carter later died at Southeastern Med after emergency surgery. The suspect, who has not yet been identified, returned to his apartment and then fled the scene in a stolen vehicle. Special Response teams from Guernsey and Muskingum County Sheriff Departments entered the apartment but the suspect was already gone. Around 7:30 that night deputies were called that the suspect was at a residence in Center Township where he was arrested without incident. He is being held in the Guernsey County jail awaiting formal charges from prosecutor Dan Padden.
