Northpointe Drive, in Muskingum County, has suffered damage from recent heavy rains.
County Engineer Doug Davis says their crew did a minor repair several years ago, but the repair continues to get worse. He says as a result of the recent winter weather, the hillside is starting to slide away from the roadway. The closure will be between Richvale Road and Main Street in Dresden. County Engineer Doug Davis says the Northbound Lane of Northpointe will be closed starting today for an undetermined amount of time.
"We currently don't know that as of right now. We don't know the extent of the damages. We have to get a crew in here from an outside resource to do some drilling, so I can see whats there," said Davis.
The Southbound Lane will remain open for now. Davis says motorists should use State Route 60, as a Northbound detour.
