It's been one week since the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, and one Zanesville man is biking 3,000 miles to help the victims.
The Barn's bartender, Daniel Rose, is taking donations for the victims in Japan, while he bikes his way through Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Along his journey, he will be asking for donations for blankets, so he can have them sent over to Japan. Local Daniel Rose says this mission is extremely important.
"It means a lot to me. Taking care of the people. I have a big heart. Other people come first to me, especially the ones that need it," said Daniel Rose.
Rose got the idea from a similar fundraiser he participated in while attending Wright State. This time, he wanted to take things into his own hands and has already started his journey to help.
"I have been biking already for the past two or three days. I have divided it up into ten weeks, and I am doing it in 60 days, so its about 300 miles a week," said Rose.
At this time, Rose is biking by himself, but he says more people are always welcome to join. If you are interested, you can call The Barn at (740) 455-BARN.
