It is currently severe weather awareness week here in Ohio and with springs arrival, AAA Auto Club wants to remind homeowners to examine their insurance policies.
"It's a good idea to check with your insurance agent now to see how much you would be reimbursed for should storm damaged happen on your home," said Kimberly Schwind with AAA.
Schwind said it can be very costly to pay out of pocket to repair any lightning, wind, or hail damage. She said it's important to know what kind of coverage you have.
"If you haven't had an inspection in several years, there could be liabilities that you don't realize, trees hanging over your roof, or even over your neighbors roof that you would be liable for," she said.
She said owners are responsible for taking any steps to prevent further damage to their homes. For more information you can visit www.AAA.com
