Inspiring and motivating was the lesson of the day at Zanesville High School.
Every student took part in the mind your own business seminar that seeks to get kids thinking about their future, their education and ecourage them to work hard.
"I think it helps out what everybody wants to do in the future," said Zanesville High School Student Beau Starner. "It's good that they could come in, explain and tell what they do and what they went through."
"You just find out that you have worth and value," said Cassandra McDonald from CASS. "Then you think maybe I can do this, Oh I didn't think about that. It inspires them."
Over thirty business personnel spoke to the students. McDonald said it's the one on one attention that helps them reach them.
"I hear it in their voice and in their heart, Can you hear me? Is anybody listening? They just really want to be treated respectably and be valued as individuals," said McDonald.
Once the event is over that isn't the last the students hear from the Mind Your Own Business leaders. McDonald tries to set the kids up with mentors or find educational opportunities for them. They're also setting up tutoring and mentoring at the John McIntire Library to help more students and show them what the library has to offer.
There is also a special kindergarten through high school talent show being put on later this month. You can call Cassandra McDonald at (740) 408-2572.
