As adults get older the creaks and kinks in bones and joints get more and more noticeable.
Monday at the Center for Seniors Dr. Steven Kimberly spoke about beating joint pain. The doctor said that keeping pain away starts with having a healthy lifestyle.
"The people that stay active stay healthier longer. Their muscles are stronger so their able to keep their balance," said Dr. Kimberly an orthopedic surgeon. "They have fewer falls because they are strong."
He recommends that adults walk or even take part in swimming programs to stay mobile. Joint pain is also something you just have to live with.
"There's always something we can do to make things more tolerable. Sometimes that requires surgery but things like medications or injections can help," explained Dr. Kimberly.
Dr. Kimberly said that the more active and healthy you become the more it will also affect your mental health.
