State Rep Troy Balderson made a stop this morning at a child care center.
Balderson read to children at the Zanesville Day Nursery in an effort to raise awareness of the importance of reading. We took the opportunity to ask Balderson about state's new budget.
"We are still working on the budget. We are going to try and have the budget passed out of the house by May 5th," said Balderson.
Balderson says last Friday, amendments were turned in for Governor Kasich's budget proposal and are expected to be drafted this week. Balderson highlights one of many of the changes coming to southeast Ohio.
"There's some pretty drastic changes, several school districts in the 94th house district are going to be affected by the TPP, tangible personal property tax. "
The state's budget must be passed by both the House and Senate and signed into law by Kasich by June 30th.
