A portion of the old County Home across from Ohio University Zanesville comes crashing down Wednesday morning.

Before the back corner of the building was brought down instructors from this week's fire school place three dummies inside that will serve as victims in Thursday's training.

"We diagram it out on paper," said Lead Instructor Matt Scarbury. "We sit and talk about where we want to put them. So, we have a pretty good idea of where they're at."

Instructors said the dummies are located in areas where you would typically find victims in tornado situations such as stairwells. Thursday they'll learn to use some of the equipment in rescuing.

"We'll show them a few techinques like how to get through a thicker piece of concrete, how to run some of the equipment and then once we do that we'll take them inside and set up a couple of smaller scenarios."

Scarbury said most of the equipment that will be used in Thursday's training has been used by firefighters before just not in this way. The firefighters are being trained to become part of the Region 8 rescue team.
