National Nurses Week

Genesis Healthcare System is celebrating National Nurses Week.

22 nurses and employees received the P.R.I.D.E Award for outstanding performance. They were nominated by their peers, leaders, and physicians.

Lab Tech Support Assistant Ebony Small said it's a great honor to be recognized.

"It feels wonderful, I'm so excited, I was surprised because that's what I do every day, that's my job, I take care of people and have a good time," said Small who received the Excellence Award.  "It's all about healthcare, we provide quality compassionate health care so that's our mission and I'm living it."

The categories for the awards include professionalism, respect, innovation/inspiration, dedication, and excellence. R.N. Danielle Harmon said being a nurse has been very rewarding.

"It's really amazing the people that are here and the employees that I work with are just fantastic, I think of Genesis kind of as a second family, everybody is always willing to work with each other and it's just an amazing place to work," said Harmon.

Innovation/Inspiration: Christie Eckelbager, R.N.,Deborah Hopkins, Specialist.

Dedication: Mary Crossan, Specialist, Sue Fesler, P.C.T., Cindy Smith, R.N., Betty Wilson, Administrative Assistant, Carl Wilson, Storeroom Associate.

Excellence: Michelle Rice, R.N., Marke Schube, Radiation Therapist, Julie VanHorn, R.N., Cheri Wade, M.S.T.

Clinical Leadership: Lori Junk, R.N.

Leadership: Kelly Dials, R.N., Victoria Kumorowski, Director.
