Kids across the area laced up their tennis shoes and hit the Zanesville High School Track...
Team Godspeed, a track and field camp, wrapped up Saturday morning. Kids of all ages and abilities gathered for the two day camp and had the opportunity to work with Athletes in Action and a number of division one coaches. 6 year-old, Owen Headley, said, he learned a lot.
"I learned stretches could help the body." said Headley. Now see when you're doing stretches with your arm, to get it more energy. "
Co-founder, Jeff Williams, has five kids of his own and knows how hard it can be to do things together as a family. He said the camp is an excellent opportunity for kids to take a break from everyday life and learn to live a healthy lifestyle.
"We hope to be an example for them, about good citizenship, giving back to others and just having fun through your passions," said Williams. "We also try, if they want, God is a big part of our life, and so, we don't evangelize, but we try to be a good example."
