ATV Crash Injures Mother and Two Children

A chain reaction ATV accident in Coshocton County sends two children and their mother to Columbus hospitals.

According to the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Evelyn Hammond of Newcomerstown was driving the ATV in the area of 55956 County Road 5 in Oxford Township when her 6-year-old daughter fell off.

Hammond turned to see what happened and drove off the left side of the roadway overturning the ATV into a ditch. Hammond was flown to the Ohio State University Medical Center by Medflight. Her 6-year-old daughter and 21-month-old son, who was also a passenger, were both flown to Columbus Children's Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
