The 4th of July is just around the corner and it's time to make your holiday plans.
The annual Stars and Stripes on the River event will be held at Zane Landing Park. Festivities will kick off at 3:00PM on Sunday. There is also an evening concert and carnival rides. Plenty of non profit organizations and food vendors will take part.
"I believe some of the other non-profit vendors may have some face painting or some things like that for some of the kids," said Organizer, Ben Whitacre. "So there will be plenty of things for both the adults and the kids to come down and enjoy. "
Fireworks will take place on Monday night at about 9:45.Organizer, Shawn Antritt said, they are the only fireworks in the area and typically draw a crowd of a couple thousand people.
"It's a great event, brings out a lot of people, a lot of friends, a lot of family, so everyone enjoys themselves with live music and the fireworks," said Antritt.
Opening ceremony on Monday will be at 6:00PM and will include a speech from Mayor Zwelling, a color guard presentation and the singing of the National Anthem.
