Residents of southeast Ohio will get a chance to express their views on the redrawing of the State's Congressional Districts at a public hearing Wednesday.
That hearing will take place at Ohio University Zanesville between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. It's one of two hearings that will take place. The other will be held at the Ohio State House. More meetings will be held around the state on Thursday and Aug 2.
Due to shrinking population, Ohio has lost two congressional seats heading into the once-per-decade redrawing of lines.
The state legislature faces a December 7 deadline for creating the new map.
A 6-member task force will provide demographics and research help to Democrats and Republicans during the process.
It will provide similar help to the State Apportionment Board, which must redraw State Legislative Districts by Oct. 1.
