This weekend ten bands take the stage to battle it out to see who's the best.
It's part of the American Red Cross' Battle of the Bands event. One hundred percent of the money raised by this weekend's show will go towards the Military Family Fest.
"We have in the past had Department of Defense grants to help with military family fest," explained Emergency Services Director James Applegate. "This year we don't have that so we had to come up with something creative."
Each band will perform for a half hour with 15 minutes in-between sets. Red Cross event organizers said for a first year event the buzz has been astounding. They've had to turn bands away.
"Anytime we put the plea out for anything for this community and surrounding counties, we do cover Perry, Muskingum and Morgan. The response is overwhelming," said Applegate.
The Battle of the Bands starts Saturday July 30 at Noon and runs until 8pm at the Newton Township Fire Department.
Along with music they'll be food and drinks. Silent and Chinese auctions where a Kindle and Netbook will be auctioned will take place.
Raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win a trip to Vegas.
WHIZ's Nichole Medaugh will be an emcee at the event.
