Newly appointed 94th District State Representative Brian Hill made a stop at WHIZ Friday afternoon.
Hill says the past few days have been a roller-coaster of emotions but he's happy to now serve Ohio's 94th District, bringing his past seven years as Muskingum County Commissioner to the State House.
"I have a local government experience there that I can understand what local governments are struggling with. A lot of times, representatives just don't have that same understanding, so I think that will help, and then just being hands on like I've tried to be in the county on many issues," said Hill.
One of the big issues Hill plans to start tackling is the District's energy sector, a potentially big economic engine for the state.
"Timing couldn't be better with the Utica and Marcellus Shale developments. That has a great opportunity so that energy sector is an area I want to jump on and try to help any way we can so we can bring back wealth to this community and jobs," said Hill.
Hill officially took office Thursday morning. He replaces former 94th District State Representative Troy Balderson who is now a State Senator.
