An all day concert battled it out to show their support for troops overseas and their families.
The first ever Battle of the Bands took place Saturday at the Newton Township Fire Department. All money raised will go towards the Military Family Fest - a free family fun day designed for troops and their families to learn more about opportunities available to them.
"It shows our Military that people do support what we do here in this town," said Organizer Pamela Stephens.
Ten local bands competed in the fundraiser. Band Member Gayle Gardner of ''Gayle Force Wind'' said their base player served in the Military and she strongly supports the cause.
"I hope a lot of people come out today and open up their pockets and help out a worthy cause," said Gardner. "To make a great day for the Military and their families."
Organizers hope to raise about $5,000 to go towards the Military Family Fest- scheduled to take place October 15th at the Zanesville Municipal Airport.
