Authorities are investigating a fire that destroyed a home on Airport Road.
Firefighters from Perry Township, Washington Township and New Concord responded to the call. Perry Township Fire Chief Bruce Sindeldecker said the fire started on Tuesday at 8:30 AM at 330 Airport Road. He said the fire spread from the garage to the rest of the home.
"It extended into the house itself, so there's extensive smoke damage in the house, and two or three of the rooms were also involved in the fire," said Sindeldecker.
Sindeldecker said the homeowner was not there, and no one was hurt. He said Airport Road was closed until the fire was under control. The cause of the fire is unknown, and the State Fire Marshal is assisting in the investigation.
