Father Arrested for Son's Murder

A Zanesville man is currently in the Muskingum County Jail after being indicted Wednesday for the murder of his 10 month old son.

Detective Sgt. Ric Roush said that 29-year-old Joseph Miller of Zanesville was arrested Thursday afternoon without incident and will be arraigned in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court next Wednesday. He's charged with one count of murder and one count of second degree felony child endangering.

Sgt. Roush said on the morning of December 8, 2010, 10 month old Justen Miller passed away at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus after being taken their by life flight from Bethesda Hospital.

Police said that the child's injuries occurred at a residence in the 100 block of Beulah Avenue. An autopsy confirmed the death was suspicious in nature and warranted investigation. The exact cause of death is not being released at this time other than the injuries were non-accidental.
