Congressman Bob Gibbs made a stop at Genesis Bethesda Hospital Wednesday as part of a tour of many of the facilities in his district.
He's doing it to hear the needs and concerns of his constituents while the U.S. House is in recess. While many have expressed concerns about jobs and the economy, Gibbs himself, is also upset with what's going on on Capitol Hill, specifically the Senate. He says the house has passed many bills , two of which were his, but the Senate has not done much.
"Washington D.C., financially, we're broke as a country but the process of Washington D.C. is broken too and that's part of it so I'm really frustrated with the Senate and their ineptness and unwillingness to at least debate the issues and have discussion in a transparent and open manner," said Gibbs.
One of the big issues Gibbs is tackling is regulatory reform, which he says, is killing a lot of jobs, not only here in Ohio, but across the nation.
"Our employers need to know what the rules of the ball game are and regulations that makes sense to them and not just bureaucrats picking things out of the air but the EPA is probably at the top of the list of the abuse of power I believe," said Gibbs.
Gibbs will tour several other facilities Friday in Licking County including Tencate Advanced Armour and the Newark-Heath Port Authority.
