Savoring a hearty breakfast can help save the lives of local animals.
The animal shelter in Muskingum County is getting ready for its "Paws for Pancakes" fundraiser. Executive director Larry Hostetler said he encourages everyone to start the day off with an all-you-can-eat breakfast.
"It's great to wake up on a Saturday morning and go eat a bunch of pancakes," said Hostetler. "All of the profits from the ticket sales will go directly to the shelter."
Hostetler said that if you can't attend "Paws for Pancakes", there are other ways to help the animals in the shelter.
"You can send a monetary donation in the mail or by PayPal, come out and walk dogs, and volunteer at the shelter," said Hostetler.
The event will take place on Saturday at the Applebee's in Zanesville from 8 to 10 AM. The cost is $5 per person.
