The Zanesville Police Department is investigating a Wednesday morning shooting incident.
Detective Sergeant Ric Roush said around 7:40 AM officers responded to a home at 476 Spangler Drive and found a shooting victim. He said 27-year-old Joshua Roush, who lives at that address, was shot in the neck area. Investigators have determined that the shooting took place at a home on Mead Street, and the victim drove himself back to his own home.
"We are interviewing people in the area," said Ric Roush. "We do have a particular suspect in mind, but we're not releasing that information at this time."
The victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, and he is listed in stable condition. Roush said this part of town has seen an increase in crime over the past few months.
"We have had some reports throughout the summer over in that area of gunshot incidents that we are currently investigating," said Ric Roush. "Some arrests have been made. There are some ongoing cases still being worked in that area, but it's probably safe to say that there has been an increase in that area of crime in general."
He said the department is concentrating patrols in that area, and the investigation is ongoing. If you have any information, you can call the Zanesville Police Department tips line at (740) 455-0712.
