A Licking County High School went into lockdown Monday after authorities say a death threat was made against a staff member.

The Licking County Sheriff's Office says they are investigating a threatening message that was written on the wall inside a boys bathroom at Watkins Memorial High School .

Officials placed the school in a stage two lockdown which meant students could not be in the hallways during class.

The school will remain in lockdown on Tuesday as a precaution.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is being asked to contact the Licking County Sheriff's Office at (740)670-5500.
