High School Sophomores had the opportunity to experience career options at Mid East Career and Technology Center in Zanesville.

The vocational school is open to area Junior and Senior students interested in learning a career trade. Sophomore students spend the day exploring the options.

"It's a chance for them to touch and see and do things that they would actually do as a student in that program, or as someone who might choose to do that career later in life," explained Public Information Coordinator Stacy Snider.

Overall the Zanesville campus offers more than 20 two-year programs, courses including business, human/ health services, and construction.

"We have a ton of students now that are males in programs like nursing and cosmetology," said Snider. "Then we also have females in programs like carpentry and welding, and they do really well and they're hired very quickly just because of that."
