Two Indicted in 2008 Perry County Pot Bust

A Perry County Grand Jury has indicted two men in connection with a major mairjuana bust back in 2008.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office says 43-year-old Jose Guadalupe Lopez and 20-year-old Carlos Alvarado Martinez, both of Mexico ,are facing felony counts of cultivation of marijuana.

The charges stem from a bust in August of 2008 off of Harrison Township Road 208 near Crooksville.

Authorities sezied nearly 6,000 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $9 million dollars.

Nationwide arrest warrants have been issued for Lopez and Martinez.

Once caught,  the pair will be extradited back to Perry County to answer to the charges.

If convicted, each faces up to 8 years in prison.
