A holiday tradition is making dreams come true.
People lined Main Street in Dresden on Saturday night to watch the "Come Home for the Holidays" parade. Firetrucks, horse-drawn carriages and decorated wagons entertained the crowd.
"I brought the kids out to the parade so they could see the Christmas lights at nighttime and get into the holiday spirit," said Michele Schneider.
Kids scooped up candy and eagerly awaited Santa's arrival. For many Dresden families, the parade is an annual activity.
"We have brothers and sisters marching in the parade," said Kim Snyder. "The kids always laugh when Santa hits his head on the street light."
Spectators were asked to bring new, unwrapped toys that were collected along the parade route.
"We wanted to give back to the community and help other children at this time of year," said Teresa Lucas. "It's important that all kids get presents and have a good Christmas."
Those toys will be donated to Dresden's "Dream Come True" toy drive.
