One local Dental practice is giving back to the community this holiday season.
Doctors Andy Fihriman and Scott Williams of Zanesville set aside their schedules on Friday for their first ever, "Christ's Table Day" The practice provided dental services free of charge to patients who would not normally be able to afford dental care. Dr. Scott Williams told us that they saw close to one-hundred patients during business hours, and while not all patients were able to donate, he feels that this is the right thing to do during the holiday season.
"We were familiar with Christ's Table. We knew of what their needs were, and it was one of those things where we just decided that we have something that we can give back.," Said Dr. Williams. "You know, we've been blessed with some skills that we believe that we can help the community with, and we're willing to do that."
Dental services ranged from cleanings and exams, to ex-rays, tooth extractions and crowns. Office manager, Gina White, said that today's, "Christ Table Day" took about a month to plan. Despite having a constant stream of people including walk-in and scheduled patients, she said she knows how hard it can be to go without care.
"There's a lot of good, hard working people out there who have lost their insurance or their jobs and just it's a good feeling to be able to help them out, and it's been exciting for all of us," White explained.
The dentistry practice will be matching one-hundred percent of the funds raised today to give to Christ Table.
