An elementary class got a lesson is economics while donating to the animals shelter.
Third Graders of Adamsville Elementary School have been selling candy-grams to help raise money. Tuesday the class made a trip to purchase supplies needed by the Animal Shelter and then deliver the items.
"They are very excited about getting to give to the animals and getting to see all the animals," said Teacher Brenda Moran. "They've been looking forward to this for several weeks now. "
The children raised more than $200. The experience is part of their economic unit.
"We were talking to them about budgeting their money and trying to figure out how many ounces, what was the better buy, was it better to buy a 7 oz. bag for $2.00 or was it better to buy a 9 oz. bag for $2.50?" explained Teacher Tiffany Wilson. "We were trying to talk to them about budgeting to get the most out of our money."
The Animal Shelter is always in need of donations. For a list of items needed contact the Animal Shelter at (740) 452-1077
