As Christmas eve traditions continue for many people, local churches continue their tradition of bringing the message of Christmas
Several Churches in Zanesville held late night Christmas eve church services, including Central Trinity United Methodist Church, on 7th Street.
Pews were packed as many families with young children came to one of the candlelight service, held Saturday afternoon.
Despite the fact that Christmas falls on a Sunday, Rev. Dr. Steven Fewell expects Central Trinity services to be filled to capacity with not only new faces, but faces from the past.
"Maybe they'll come because they think people are away with family," said, Fewell.
The candlelight service included music from several of the church's choirs.
Pastor Fewell says its important with all the commercialism of Christmas to remember the hope that Christmas brings.
"We see great hope. And, what we celebrate tonight is a victory, it's a victory for today, and a victory for all time," said Fewell.
Pastor Fewell says regular services will be held Sunday morning at 8:00 and 10:15.
