There are a lot of empty cages at the animal shelter in Zanesville thanks to another successful free cat adoption day.
The shelter waived the $50 adoption fee for cats to help relieve some overcrowding. WHIZ caught up with cat owners waiting in line on Saturday.
"I noticed it in the paper yesterday that they were giving them out for free, and I already have cats," said Audrey Ford. "I'm actually the owner of two cats, so I just thought I would come pick up another one."
"There are so many people here!" said Susan Morgan. "They probably have gotten rid of a lot, because the cages are all empty. It was such a good idea."
"I love cats, and I want to get a cat," said Kathy Chapman. "I'm trying to decide which one I want, because I can only have one."
All of the cats were spayed or neutered, checked by a veterinarian and received their vaccinations.
