The Ohio Division of Wildlife said an animal footprint, found outside of Somerset on Sunday, did not belong to a lion.
The Perry County Sheriff's Office and Division of Wildlife officials investigated the report after receiving a call about a large unidentified footprint at a residence on township road 96.
Wildlife Communications Specialist, Lindsay Rist, said there was no evidence that the footprint belonged to a lion.
Rist did not specify what animal the footprint came from.  She said her office gets reports of sightings of bobcats and lions, but said most of those reports turn out to be house cats or other native animals.
