A little girl is receiving an outpouring of love and support.
Callista Lynch was born four weeks ago with Spina Bifida and fluid on the brain. Her mother Kim said she was terrified when she learned of Callista's diagnosis, but now, she's just happy to have her baby girl.
"Now that she's here, we know that we have a whole lot of physical therapy ahead of us, we have a whole lot doctor's appointments, but she's, I mean, she's a great baby. She's very calm, she's just like a normal kid, she just needs a little extra help," said Kim.
The family held a benefit today at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Zanesville to help pay for medical bills. Donated items were up for bid in chinese and silent auctions. Kim said she never expected so much support.
"I'm really happy with how many people have shown up. I mean it's only been going on for 10 minutes now and we've got a packed house. And it's just, I mean there are strangers, there's family, there's friends, there's people that came across from the shopping center just to eat lunch, so it is overwhelming, but I'm so thankful."
Callista continues to make progress every day.
