The official start of spring is still a few weeks away, but that isn't stopping people from getting into the spirit...
Saturday, the Muskingum Valley Garden Society held its annual "Home Gardening Symposium" at the OU-Z Campus Center. Society President Beth Brown said there was something for everyone interested in gardening, regardless of skill level.
"Sometimes people think they need to be an expert gardner to come, but actually it's just the opposite. You come to these events to learn, so you can go home and grow your own produce, grow your own gardens, flowers..," said Brown.
This is the ninth year for the symposium, which featured speakers and greenery from area businesses.
"We could not do this without their support. So we are very thankful that they help us out. Uh, this year is our best year, and we're looking forward to, next year will be our tenth anniversary, so be looking for a wonderful program next year, also."
More than 200 people attended Saturday's event.
