Young artists are showing off their creativity...
The Zanesville Museum of Art held its annual K-12 Student Exhibition on Saturday. Museum Director Susan Talbot-Stanaway said it gives art teachers the opportunity to recognize the talents of their students.
"They pick the things that are most representative of the different students in the class, and I think they also try to pick something that's colorful, that would show up in the room, because they know the kids are really proud of what they do, and so they want their work to be visible," said Talbot-Stanaway.
The Student Exhibition has been celebrated every year since 1955. Talbot-Stanaway said it's a big confidence boost for aspiring artists.
"so I think it's great for them to have their work in a museum setting, and so they can look around and say 'Oh, this is something I could do when I get older. And if I don't do it, I could teach it.' And so, I think it's a great inspiration for them."
The artwork will be on display at the museum until March 31st.
