Voters Approve Muskingum County Center for Seniors Levy

In Muskingum county voters approved a renewal levy for the Center for Seniors by over 4000 votes.

The half-mill renewal passed with 8,015 votes for, and 3,573 against the levy.

Executive Director for the Muskingum County Center for Seniors Terry Dunn is grateful the county supported and passed the levy.

"We're very excited, we're very appreciative that the many people in Muskingum county have faith in us," said Dunn.  "We feel that we won their confidence, and we really appreciate them voting for us."

Dunn adds that the money from the levy will actually allow for more revenue to come to the center.

"This levy brings between $680,000 and $690,000 a year into the center, and we will use that money as match money to bring service dollars in from the Area Agency on Aging over in Byesville," added Dunn.

The money from the levy makes up for about 46% of the Center for Seniors' general operating budget.
