A fire that severely damaged a New Lexington home Thursday is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office.
The fire broke out at 303 West Water Street shortly before 3:30 this afternoon.
"There was two occupants home at the time of the fire. They was notified by somebody walking by that their home was on fire," says Capt. Don Phillips, with the New Lexington Fire Department.
No one was injured in the fire. New Lexington, Crooksville and Junction City Fire Departments responded to the scene.
"We don't know if it's suspicious or not. We've got the Fire Marshal's Office coming to investigate and determine the cause," says Phillips.
Shane Cartmill with the State Fire Marshal's Office says their crew will be on scene Friday to investigate the fire.
