We're one week away from the 26th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction, and event organizers are looking for more cakes.
The auction takes place next Thursday and Friday at the Colony Square Mall.
Thursday, event organizers met at the Carr Center to finalize their plans.
Cake Auction Chairman Scott Boyer said cake donations are down this year, but he's hopeful that donations will pick up before the deadline next Wednesday.
"We're a little bit behind, but you know, we take what we're given. We will make some phone call from people we haven't heard from that have participated in the past," said Boyer.
Nearly 400 cakes are auctioned off at the event every year.
Over the last 25 years, the auction has raised over $3,000,000 for the Carr Center's programs.
"The money goes for our adult day care at the Carr Center, and then basically speech therapy for preschoolers up to kindergarten. So basically it stays in the community and fund those local programs," added Boyer.
The WHIZ Media Group is a sponsor of the Cake Auction and will broadcast the two-day event live on AM1240 and here on whiznews.com.
